Condition / Challenge:
Andrew is the first born of twins, who arrived into this world six weeks early, and he was born with Down Syndrome.

Celebrated For:
From even as young as 6 weeks old, Andrew showed great determination and began to excel at therapies designed for infants and toddlers with disabilities. Even though Andrew was behind in normal childhood developments than his twin sister, he never let it stop him from doing his best.

When this Superstar started school at just three years old, he worked hard at all his speech, occupational, and physical therapies, which helped him progress and develop just like any other child in school! Andrew loves PE, art, and loves going to the library with his classmates. Outside of school, this active young man loves to play challenger baseball and basketball.

Even though Andrew’s speech is limited, his desire to communicate will ensure he finds a way to show you what he’s talking about. He is also faithful in his prayers, and is the only one in the whole school brave enough to get everyone to stop eating lunch to say their prayers first!

“Andrew is an inspiration to everyone he meets. All his schoolmates know him, and he loves to give hugs if he sees that someone is sad or hurting and does his best to try and make them feel better. Because of Andrew’s special spirit in life, he helps people see that there are more important things in life, and that they need to take time to stop and smell the flowers. He is a loving young boy who doesn’t let his disability hold him back in any way – which is what a Superstar is all about!”
