Coby is a 19-year-old who attends the Cedar Hill Vocational Instruction program. Coby has a diagnosis of Spina-Bifida and Hydrocephalus, but he refuses to let that diagnosis define him. Coby has a strong empathy for others and strong work ethic. If you think his chair limits his ability, all you have to do is stand back and watch him work.
One of Coby’ dreams have been to work with kids. This summer he participated in the Summer Earn and Learn program, and he got an opportunity to do just that. He was a teacher for fourth graders, and he loved it! Coby’s goal is to work with young children who use a wheelchair, and to teach them that they can do anything other kids can do.
Coby is an Honor Roll student, participates in Special Olympics and enjoys weight lifting. In fact, he won the Cedar Hill high school pushup challenge! Coby also enjoys volunteering at the Cedar Hill Food Pantry and Duncanville Health & Rehabilitation. His passion to help others, work ethic and positive attitude makes him a great role model for not only the special needs kids he loves to work with but for all who meet him!
